Rain, rain, go away!

Rainy Day

Lemon Jam

What are you up to this weekend? I am planning to do some home office space organizing and hopefully shopping for more yarn (yay!), and then watching the Oscars on Sunday, (well actually just an hour of it, Sofia has to go to bed at 9).

I made this jam for the second time last weekend. I guess I am quite addicted to it. It's just Meyer lemons thinly sliced and boiled with sugar for 30 minutes, but it tastes so good. Especially on a gloomy rainy day like today!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

    1. It was a first time with Meyer lemons for me too. Apparently it's just a cross between an orange and and a lemon.

  3. I've never had lemon jam before but I'll bet it's good! We had rain the other night for the first time in months. I fell asleep listening to it and thinking about how I could photograph it. But in the morning the rain was gone.

No big plans here this week-end. I hit the gym twice, went to a lovely funeral (it truly was a celebration of life), and did a little painting in the bathroom. Next up, the Oscars.

  4. Meyer lemons boiled with only sugar? Do you have a recipe with quantities or approximations by chance? This sounds delightful!

    1. Hi Nikole, yes I just used sugar. I do equal amounts - so 2 cups of sugar for 2 cups of sliced lemons, maybe even a bit more. Boiled for 30 minutes, it sets thick when it cools off.
