On Saturday it was Orthodox Christmas and we had a simple dinner with family and friends. Doesn't really feel like a holiday, but it's nice to celebrate two Christmases :)
Фото такие теплые и домашние! Бабушка наконец-то лично познакомилась с внучкой) Лена, а в других своих работах Вы используете какую-то подсветку или везде освещение естественное?
Hi Elena! It's so lovely to see this post. I grew up in my Grandmother's home (here in NY) celebrating the same holiday. She was from Odessa, Ukraine. Even after her passing we continue to celebrate the holiday with a small feast of food she use to make. Verhuny is always our dessert. =)
Elena, sadly no. My sister and I use to know the basic when we were younger but over the years we lost it. My Grandmother traveled to the U.S. with her sister and parents, all of which passed away before I was born. So as you can imagine she used the language very little with no one to talk to. It's something my sister and I talk about learning in the near future. =)
I think last time I did any crocheting when I was a kid, I decided to give it another try and made this Totoro toy. It turned out to be quite easy! You can make one too using this pattern . Now I wish I could make my own patterns but I guess it's too soon for that.
I've been such bad blogger lately but these pictures of Russia by Yoko Takahashi made me so nostalgic that I just had to share them with you. These are like looking into my childhood memories, travelling by trains to grandma's house in summer, feeling carefree. Just pictures of ordinary things but they take me into my happy place. Yesterday we went to the Bronte Creek park near Toronto. We rode our bicycles, visited a little farm and had a picnic under a blossoming apple tree. I was a lovely day!
Lovely! That turnover looks delicious!
